About the Work
TORSION 02
Nine pieces of iron support a single surface.
Each piece of iron has a different twist,
and even though they all point in the same direction, they never take on exactly the same shape.
The spiral, born of heat and force,
leaves a faint tremor within the metal’s hardness.
Within this simple structure of vertical lines,
the nine lines draw closer together, move apart, and overlap,
gradually forming a single, tranquil density.
The upper disk is stationary.
However, beneath it, the twisting of the iron continues unceasingly.
Things that are still, and things that embody movement.
TORSION is a form in which both of these elements coexist.
